NASA’s Messenger to fly by Mercury during Retrograde
As the moon impacts waves and moods, astrologically speaking, the planet Mercury rules communication. Three or four times a year — around once a quarter — Mercury goes retrograde, meaning it appears to travel in reverse direction. When Mercury is in retrograde, any and all forms of transmissions of communication, including the human brain, are prone to a lack of clarity.
Computers, cars, cameras, phones, televisions, radios, satellites, emails, and the Internet can be affected when Mercury is in retrograde. Frustrated complaints rise among peers about technology glitches or unintended messages to the wrong recipient, for instance.
Each year is different on when the retrograde motion occurs, but it lasts up to three weeks with a peak of problems in the middle of its course. Small and seemingly insignificant disruptions show up before the estimated start date of the retrograde action. Even though Astrologists believe communication transmission can be effected while Mercury is in retrograde, NASA scheduled a return mission to study this mysterious planet hoping to capture more information about its magnetosphere.

Mercury Facts According to NASA
NASA MESSENGER’S Mission is scheduled to fly by Mercury on Sept 29th, 2009.
(While Mercury is in Retrograde)
- All planets in our known solar system have magnetic pull except for Venus
- Mercury has no moons
- Rotates around the sun in 88 days
- One of the smallest planets
- Hot, dry and practically airless
- Extreme contrasting temperatures
- Closest to the Sun
As humans of the MESSENGER trip return for a pre-existing plan, it follows the guidelines of the astrological rules of Mercury in Retrograde; It is acceptable to review but it isn’t advised to start anything new, sign any contracts, make a major purchase or commitment as it is highly unlikely it will be followed through with success without re-doing a few times afterwards. As the word retrograde starts with re it is a good reminder of what we should reconsider.
Consider These Words When Dealing with Mercury in Retrograde:
Re-search
Re-consider
Re-peat
Re-wind
Re-flect
Re-do
Re-try
Re-save
Re-discover
Re-evaluate
Re-write
Re-view
Remember two major Astrological signs are ruled by Mercury. The retrograde period may affect these personality types with more intensity for a longer period of time than the usual three-week time frame. Noticeably both exhibit some similar NASA Mercury details such as extreme contrasts. Gemini starts at the beginning of summer and Virgo at the beginning of Fall as temperatures change. Both can be judged like any human as possibly hot, dry, airless and can be confusing to understand.
Mercury Rules These Two High Communication Astrology Signs:
Gemini
Air Sign
Sign of the Twins
Take note of NASA’s fact: Mercury takes 88 days to rotate around the sun.
Socially floating, Talkative, Creatively Entertaining, Imaginative, Generalists, Artistic
Virgos
Earth Sign
Sign of the Virgin
Take note of NASA’s fact: Extreme temperatures and symbolically virgins are often judged as frigid.
Grounded Intellect, Analytical, Practical, Purposeful, Investigative, Points out imperfections
As Astrology and Astronomy were being discovered simultaneously, so was Palmistry. All three overlap elements onto each other. In Palmistry the smallest finger, is marked as Mercury, as NASA says one of the smallest planets. Sizes and shapes are interpreted with communicative traits.
Palmistry – Mercury the Pinkie Finger
Size and shape
Pointed arrow tip – Persuasive
Bulging bubble tip – Bursting with ideas.
Long pinkie that measures near the top of the ring finger – Musically talented
Leaning back away from the palm – Reserved Communicator
Involuntarily it points up when sipping a cup or twitches reflecting inner emotions when trying to stay calm. Jointly, as when Mercury is in retrograde, pain is felt intensely and easily when pulled back.
While Mercury is in retrograde, as usual, folks may look at a deeper message, over-analyze or assume what may not be the real intent. Unplanned events, wrong signals, delay in results are all celestial inconveniences when Mercury is in retrograde. At least it’s something else to blame besides humans. Refrain the possible expensive impulse before contacting the Geek Squad. Pause before pounding the computer keys again. Relax and see the planet pass through its natural cycle in just a few weeks.
